Love Pop Choir's Sing4Stroke Fundraiser: A Magical Night of Music, Friendship, and Giving Back !

What an unforgettable evening we had at our Sing4Stroke Fundraiser, held at the beautiful Holy Trinity Church in Cookridge. Over 100 talented ladies representing  all our choir groups came together for a cause that resonates deeply with us, raising awareness and funds for stroke recovery.

On World Stroke Day, the 29th of October, we launched our JustGiving page to kickstart our fundraising efforts. For our performance, we chose Beyoncé’s Halo a song that speaks powerfully to recovery and resilience. With lyrics that resonate about finding light in the darkest times, Halo was the perfect tribute to the journey that many stroke survivors endure. Remarkably, music therapy has shown to be a tremendous aid for stroke survivors, as singing can often remain accessible when speech is not, creating a bridge to recovery.

There was a great deal of excitement and laughter as our ladies came together, some meeting for the first time, others delighted to meet up with old friends from different groups. What an atmosphere as, under the expert guidance of choir directors Lauren, Joanne and Katie, we practiced Halo all together for the first time, yet it sounded as if we’d been singing it together for years.

It wasn't long before we were recording our amazing performance to share on our Social Media Channels and with family and friends, spreading the important message behind our fundraiser far and wide.

Time then for a short break, where our ladies sprang into action for a quick fundraising boost! Raffle tickets were snapped up for a chance to win fantastic prizes, so generously donated by our choir members.

A delicious bake sale, brimming with treats, made by our talented bakers, added to the night’s success and our fundraising total!

Fully refreshed, everyone came back together to practise the set list for our spectacular event at Ripon Cathedral. This was a great opportunity for our ladies to rehearse the songs together and as usual the sound was amazing, generating even more excitement for this fantastic event.

A wonderful selection of Christmas songs filled the room, including the beautiful O Holy Night, a real favourite within the choir.

Throughout the rehearsal raffle tickets were drawn with the chance to win 12 'hampers' full of fabulous prizes. It was great to see that prizes were won across our groups, spreading the good luck around the room.

Time then for the evening to come to a close, such a fantastic event full of fun, friendship and singing all in the name of such a worthy cause. Every pound raised will help support stroke recovery, making a real difference in people’s lives.

Now for the big reveal! Our amazing choir raised an incredible £1,252 for Sing4Stroke, smashing our original target of £1000. What a fantastic achievement ladies, we are so very proud of everyone at Love Pop Choir. ❤❤❤

A massive thank you to everyone who contributed to this special event. Whether you sang with us, baked treats, donated prizes, bought raffle tickets, recorded music or cheered us on from afar, your support made all the difference. ♥

And let’s not forget the highlight of the night, our breath taking performance of Beyoncé's Halo! The video recording of this special moment turned out to be absolutely magical, we hope you love it as much as we do.
