Love Pop Choir Summer Round Up And Your Thoughts

Hello Summer 

What a busy but fabulous year this has been for us all at Love Pop Choir.  It's definitely time to think of hot sunny days lazing in the garden, enjoying a BBQ or taking wonderful holidays with family and friends. Fingers crossed the weather is kind to us and we get to really enjoy the summer break and soak up all that sunshine. Whatever you are doing this Summer have a fantastic time and be sure to squeeze in some singing!

Summer Sings 

Of course not everyone is taking a break from choir over the Summer, some of you just can't wait until September before your next singing fix, so thank goodness for the Summer Sing sessions to keep you going. We have lots of sessions lined up for you in all our locations, so you can try out another group for a change, stay at your usual group, or mix it up, it's up to you.  Don't worry if you haven't booked on yet, there's still time, just book your sessions on the Love Pop Choir website:

Summer Sharing Event 

Thanks to all of you who joined us for our Six Choir Summer Sharing event, it was so wonderful to hear all our different groups performing and of course so many of us singing together sounded amazing. What was overwhelmingly special was the support and encouragement our groups gave to each other, I bet the cheers could have been heard at Elland Road ! We now have lots of great photos and video, curtesy of the talented Craig Denton, which will be fabulous to use in our advertising campaigns.

Spain

Lots of you are interested in the trip to Spain which we are hoping to take in early Spring. What an experience that will be, Love Pop Choir on tour ! We are getting together details, flight prices, dates etc and are so grateful to Polly, our lovely Saltaire choir member, who is sorting things for us in Spain. As soon as we know more we can get the information to you and we can take it from there. Hopefully lots of us can enjoy this great opportunity to sing with our Spanish friends.

Awards 

We are very proud to have won the Yorkshire Prestige Award for Community Choir of The Year 2023. This is down to the hard work of all our Love Pop Choir team and to the incredible support we receive from all of you. Our Choir Directors work tirelessly to make sure you have a fantastic time at choir and of course you all put in so much effort to learn the songs and perform them to such a high standard at our gigs, so a massive thank you to everyone. 

Autumn/Winter 

As always, we've been busy singing at lots of gigs this year and our calendar is already filling up fast for Christmas, so we have lots of fun lined up for the Autumn/Winter terms. Hopefully we'll have our new Love Pop Choir hoodies available to order by September, so not only will they look great, they'll keep us warm too. Our Autumn term starts in the first week of September and we can't wait to see you all back again, fully charged up and raring to go. 

New group - Love Pop Choir Farsley

We are so excited to have a new choir group opening up in September, led by our fabulous new Choir Director, Joanne who some of you already know from our Cookridge and Harrogate groups.  Joanne will be a great addition to the team and you will all meet her at some point if you haven't already. Our new group will be based at Farsley Celtic football ground, a fabulous venue that hosts lots of big events throughout the year, which we hope to be a part of. We all wish Joanne lots of luck and success with her new group and look forward to singing with Love Pop Choir Farsley at our next sharing event.

Songs

It's time now to get busy arranging and recording some fabulous new songs for our Autumn and Winter terms, including your choice, Hazy Shade of Winter.  What a great pick that is, the harmonies will sound amazing. Over the Summer we will be running a similar vote for your favourite Christmas song, so please get your thinking caps on and let's see what you can come up with. Look out for a post about that over the Summer holidays, we have to plan well ahead.

Your thoughts

If you recall, at Christmas I shared with you some of the wonderful messages of support and thanks we received from you. I thought it would be nice to share another new selection so, once again, you can see what Love Pop Choir means to everyone. This is just a few of the comments and messages you have posted or sent to us since Christmas, there are many, many more.  I am so grateful to you all for being a part of this, these comments are the real reward for all the hard work.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Lauren xxx. 

 Lauren, you are the person who brings the enthusiasm and atmosphere to our sessions making them fun and enjoyable- you should be proud of yourself!!     

 I was a newcomer to the choir. I really enjoyed my taster; everyone was friendly, and I loved the song choices. Thank you for welcoming me. Xx

  I  found myself at a bit of a crossroads a little bit lost if I’m honest. Then I found Love Pop Choir which has become my North Star, it’s lovely to be part of such a supportive and fun group of such inspiring ladies. Singing is definitely good for the soul, here’s to many more fun times ahead

    Something to do just for me. What a fantastic set of strong women and it’s been a blast singing with you over the last year. Here’s to many more. And Shane … suppose you’re not so bad either Legend x   

 Children are a huge part of our lives, but I’ve learnt it’s important not to lose yourself along the way. I’ve loved the comradery and laughs as much as the singing and seeing our progress each week.

    Thought we all did amazing as usual, but we can't do it without you Kim. Thanks again. X 

   Well, I thought we smashed it tonight! A packed pub with happy vibes. Loved it. So grateful to Love Pop Choir Saltaire. Joining remains one of the best decisions I’ve ever made

I've only been there for 9 months and loved every minute

  I spoke to a few of the ladies after the workshop and they loved it, a fair few wanted to sign up 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎉

               Wow, we sound fabulous, how fantastic we all sound together from both choirs.

   Hello there, had such a great time yesterday really enjoying being part of such a fun and inspiring group of women

      Sooo proud of everyone’  What a fab ending for the summer well done to everyone we are all just fabulous, my family said we were amazing and really enjoyed it

   It was indeed such a joy to sing with everyone and listening back to us I certainly think,” Wow that was really good!” Three generations of my family were in the audience —all of them loved it and hoped the choir festival would be on again next year

    WOW! how fantastic was last night? Such a great event for our amazing choir. Singing with a packed room full of such friendly, supportive women, chatting away at the party, ending the night with a singalong around the piano to Queen hits ... fabulous.
