Well it's hard to believe it but we are now enjoying our 2nd Love Pop Choir Christmas, how time flies!
Since the start of our Autumn term we have performed at an amazing 28 gigs, raising thousands of pounds for charity, talk about busy!
Myself and Joanne recently attended the Yorkshire Prestige Awards at Hazlewood Castle and were delighted to receive the award for Community Choir of the Year 2023/24. It was extra special for us as the judging panel said they could see how much all of you ladies enjoy yourselves at choir.
One of this term's highlights was launching our new group, Love Pop Choir Farsley, and what a fabulous success that has been.
We now have a well established group in Farsley, led by Choir Director Joanne. They have already performed at two Christmas gigs, giving brilliant performances at the Farsley Christmas Market and Farsley Celtic's Charity Football Match.
I think we would all agree that another fantastic highlight was bringing ladies from all of our groups together to perform at Ripon Cathedral.
What a stunning venue with incredible acoustics. Your feedback from the event has been so wonderful to hear, I am so pleased you all enjoyed it as much as I did.
For anyone who doesn't know, we are already booked in to perform there again next year so even more of you can share this fabulous experience.
We have all been incredibly busy singing at so many events during our Christmas programme and we have had many more performance requests we had to turn down as we just couldn't fit them in. We start getting bookings from the Summer so anyone trying to book later is often out of luck. In fact we already have several repeat bookings in place for next Christmas! You all impressed the event organizers so much they booked us straight back in again. What a compliment!
Time for some thanks now, it sounds a bit like an acceptance speech at the Oscars but here goes.😊
Firstly, I want to thank our wonderful Choir Directors for doing such a great job each week, they put so much into their groups and make it such fun for you all. I hope my groups enjoy their sessions just as much too. I think they do as they have bought me an amazing trip to Northumberland as a Christmas present this year. What an incredibly generous gift, I can't wait to relax at the hotel for a few days after Christmas, thank you so much Harrogate and Cookridge ladies.
I also have a big thank you for those who help and support the choir voluntarily. My mum, Jane, spends many hours doing our advertising and social media for me, I wouldn't be able to keep up without her. My Fiancé, Jason, designs all of our branding and merchandise so everything looks fantastic. Also a huge thanks to Craig Denton who takes so many fantastic photos and videos of us, allowing us to keep an amazing record of the choir. Thanks to Julie Denton, Craig's wife and member of our Cookridge group, for introducing him to us.
But the main people I really can't thank enough, are all you wonderful ladies who come to our choir each week. Your support means everything to me, the time, effort and energy you give to the choir is what makes it so special. You lovely ladies are the absolute best, thank you for being a part of our fabulous Love Pop Choir family.❤
We are back singing again in the week commencing 8th of January 2024, so we will look forward to seeing you then for a fabulous new term, with new songs and more fun to come.
