TED - Our Lakeland Terrier Mascot

At Love Pop Choir we have many choir members who are dog lovers, so Woodfield  Dog Rescue is a charity close to our hearts.

We even have our own musical  mutt 'Ted' who likes nothing better than to sit at the piano with his owner, our award winning musical director and founder Lauren Elliott.

Woodfield Dog Rescue's charity fundraising event

12th March 2022

Our superstars from Love Pop Choir Harrogate enjoyed a fantastic evening, dancing the night away, at a local charity event raising funds for Woodfield Dog Rescue in Harrogate.

The ABBA themed event was partly sponsored by Love Pop Choir and raised an amazing £2329.13.  Funds raised enabled 27 puppies to be rescued from a Romanian kill shelter, transporting them to the UK and paying for medical treatment and food for the puppies. Woodfield Dog Rescue holds several fund raising events each year to support the rescue dogs, a truly worthy cause. You can find more information about their events and the fabulous work they do on their Facebook page.

Love Pop Choir’s very own 'Dancing Queens', dressed in their finest ABBA outfits, sang their hearts out whilst dancing along to their favourite ABBA songs. There were a few sore heads in the morning but everyone had a fabulous time. ABBA's top hit Thank You For The Music has now been added to our repertoire, a very appropriate song for our ladies to sing.

RHS Harlow Carr, Spring Gardening Weekend

30th April 2022

How exciting, Love Pop Choir performed their first ever live gig at RHS Harlow Carr, Harrogate and what a fabulous success it was. 🍾

Ladies from four of our Love Pop Choir groups were singing together at RHS Harlow Carr, Harrogate for their Spring Gardening Weekend event. We were blessed with beautiful sunshine and boy was it hot, sunglasses were definitely the order of the day.

Our audience, seated in deck chairs, clapped along as we sang our hearts out to a summery mix of feel good songs from Love Yourself  by Justin Bieber through to Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves, we certainly brought the sunshine.

Our professional photographers were on hand to take photos and record a video, giving us a wonderful keepsake of this special occasion. Friends and family were also there to join us on our debut performance.  For some of our ladies it was their first ever live performance and they all did an amazing job, we are so proud of them.

What a wonderful day and a fantastic beginning for Love Pop Choir!

Love Pop Choir Prosecco launch

2nd May 2022

It's hard to believe but it's finally happened, Love Pop Choir officially launched on Monday 2nd May 2022, hooray!

What an amazing week launching all of our groups at Love Pop Choir. We’ve made it through six choir launches, gained around 200 new members as well as our existing ones, drank countless bottles of Prosecco and even threw in a few Jammie Dodgers!

It was an absolute pleasure for founder and choir director, Lauren Elliott to visit and sing with all of our groups on their launch nights in Roundhay, Saltaire, Cookridge, Otley, Ilkley and Harrogate.

Monday

Our Roundhay and Saltaire choirs were first to launch on Monday evening, both were brand new groups so it was especially exciting to meet all the lovely ladies joining us.

Our Roundhay choir director, Georgia Jakubiak was delighted with the huge turnout, she soon had the ladies harmonising beautifully to 'We Found Love' by Rihanna.

Our Saltaire group also had a great crowd with choir director Shane Durrant brining  so much energy to a fantastically fun first session. Our Saltaire ladies were soon up and running singing 'Three Little Birds' by Bob Marley & The Wailers.

Tuesday

Three launches tonight for our Cookridge, Otley and Ilkley groups.

The energetic Shane Durrant ran the Cookridge session on behalf of Lauren Elliott (Love Pop Choir founder and choir director) who was out and about visiting the other new groups that evening. Shane had everyone laughing and thoroughly enjoying themselves whilst learning the harmonies (and the clicks) to 'Be My Baby' by The Ronnettes!

Our new choir director, Paul Dale-Vickers led our Otley group, getting off to an electrifying start with 'Together in Electric Dreams' by Philip Oakey & Giorgio Moroder.

Our fantastic Ilkley group was launched by lovely choir director Kim Linfoot. Our Ilkley ladies started off with one of our favourite warm ups 'I like to sing' very appropriate from the wonderful feedback we received.

Thursday

Another a huge turnout for our Harrogate group led by our fabulous choir director Lauren Elliott.

Our new song 'Castaway' by Zac Brown Band had our ladies feeling very summery and dreaming of rum cocktails. Although we didn't have any rum to hand the Prosecco went down very well instead.

Such a fabulous way to celebrate the end of a super successful launch week for Love Pop Choir.

Love Pop Choir Harrogate

Platinum Jubilee Street Party at The Empress on the Stray

4th June 2022

In celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, our fabulous Harrogate ladies choir enjoyed a fun filled evening at one of our favourite venues, The Empress on the Stray in Harrogate.

On a beautiful summer's evening our ladies were decked out with Royal Tiaras to fit the patriotic theme. Street party tables were trimmed with Union Flags and the audience enjoyed summer drinks and a barbeque whilst we entertained them.

We performed two different sets featuring a host of summery feel good songs. Our new song Castaway by Zac Brown Band had been arranged and learned especially for the Empress as the lyrics 'pour me another one' just seemed to fit the merry pub crowd perfectly.
