What an amazing night for our fabulous Roundhay ladies performing at their charity fundraiser for the Pulmonary Hypertension Association UK (PHA). This wonderful charity is close to the heart of one of our Roundhay members so the event had special meaning for our ladies.

Not only did the audience enjoy several numbers from our wonderful choir, they were also entertained by some of Choir Director Georgia's university students. There was also a very popular bake sale and bottle raffle to raise extra funds.

Now this was a bit of a first for our ladies, performing actions to Wonder by Naughty Boy, so NO LYRICS. 😱 This was no problem for this talented bunch though as you can see in the video below, it looks like they had great fun.

Such a fabulous evening that raised an incredible £619 for PHA, what an achievement ladies, we are so very proud of you.

Love Pop Choir Roundhay
North Leeds Charity Beer Festival
13th April 2024

Another busy event for our wonderful Roundhay ladies, singing at the North Leeds Charity Beer Festival.

This annual event raises much needed funds for the Roundhay Rotary Club who support many charities and associations both local and further afield.

Joined by a few extra ladies from Ilkley and Farsley, our fabulous choir entertained the crowd to a great mix of songs including the ever popular Fleetwood Mac MelodyStitches by Shawn Mendes and new choir song Sweet Dreams /Seven Nation Army Mash Up.

The audience had a great time and didn't want the singing to stop, demanding an encore, which our choir was happy to perform. In return our lovely ladies treated to a few glasses of Prosecco which, as you can imagine, went down very well. 🥂

Love Pop Choirs Harrogate & Cookridge
Harrogate Choir Festival
13th April 2024

Oh What A Night!

Last year our Harrogate and Cookridge groups had a fabulous time at the Harrogate Choir Festival, so were delighted to be invited back again for 2024. Even bigger and better this year, moving from the Harrogate Theatre to the beautiful Royal Hall, everyone had an amazing time.

Stepping out onto the large stage in front of a packed audience was a real thrill. Performing songs that were so beautifully arranged by Choir Director Lauren and so painstakingly rehearsed by our ladies was truly magical. Starting off with the wonderful harmonies of Somebody to Love by Queen, followed by the haunting melody of When We Were Young by Adele and ending with a spectacular performance of the very technical Defying Gravity from the musical Wicked. What a performance!

It was then time for drinks (and lots of crisps!) on the balcony whilst watching the remaining choirs perform, it was so great to see and hear the amazing variety of talent out there. The wonderful evening ended with the whole audience joining in a very appropriate sing-along of Thank You For The Music by ABBA with members of Love Pop Choir joining other local choirs on the stage.

A few celebratory drinks at the pub brought a close to this year's Festival, now we just have to wait to do it all again next year.♥

Candlelighters Charity Fundraiser
26th April 2024

Performing for a packed room at the Candlelighters charity fundraising evening was the next event for our super talented ladies from our Cookridge and Harrogate groups. We had a wonderful surprise as our fabulous photographer friend, Craig Denton joined us, now well on the way to recovery from his recent illness.

The audience were treated to a retro mix of favourite hits that sounded fabulous with the room's great acoustics, despite the very noisy, busy venue. Audience favourites were Blinding Lights by the Weekend, dancefloor filler A Little Respect and an I'm Still Standing finale. This went down so well that an encore of I'm Still Standing was requested and the dancefloor filled with happy smiling faces singing and dancing along, including star of the show Ella.

At the end of a fun evening it was time for the raffle to be drawn.  There were lots (and I mean lots) of prizes to be won, but not by choir member Mel who bought loads of tickets but didn't win a thing, much to her dismay.🤣 It was all for a good cause though!

The event was a huge success and raised over £1,000 for this truly wonderful cause.

Well done ladies, what an achievement, we are so proud of you.

Love Pop Choirs Ilkley & Otley
Ilkley Carnival
6th May 2024

What a wonderful day it was at Ilkley Carnival for our fabulous ladies from our Ilkley and Otley groups.

A day full of fun with a huge Mardi Gras themed parade, stunt shows, dog shows, fair rides and lots of entertainment the huge crowds had such a good time.

Our talented ladies performed a beautiful mixed set in the acoustic marquee including our new Sweet Dreams/Seven Nation Army Mash-Up, firm favourite A Little Respect and the super cool Wonder by Naughty Boy.

Another great day for Love Pop Choir.

Love Pop Choirs Cookridge & Harrogate
Holy Trinity Flower Festival
25th May 2024

Such fabulous acoustics!

Ladies from our Cookridge and Harrogate groups enjoyed performing at the Holy Trinity Flower Festival in Cookridge, raising funds for the church restoration project.

The beautiful church, currently under renovation, is the weekly rehearsal venue for our Cookridge group. What a joy it was to perform there as the acoustics are wonderful and our ladies loved singing their hearts out.

Performing two different sets meant that new songs and old were included in the line up including Be My Baby, I'm Yours and choir festival hit When We Were Young. Choir Director, Lauren encouraged the audience to stand up and join in with the closing number I'm Still Standing and even Father Paul was seen dancing and singing in the aisle.
